Bio

Steven Slessor is an Independent Director with Leeward, bringing over 25 years of experience in fund administration, audit, and governance in the alternative asset management industry. He advises investment funds and managers on board oversight, compliance, and operational best practices, drawing on a career that spans senior roles in administration, client management, and regulated directorships.

Prior to joining Leeward, Steve spent 17 years at MUFG Investor Services, where he served as Managing Director of Relationship Management. In that role, he oversaw onboarding for new fund launches, guided client relationships across multiple jurisdictions, and coordinated with global service providers. He also sat on the boards of MUFG’s regulated Cayman and Bermuda entities for over a decade, contributing to their governance and regulatory strategy. Earlier in his career, Steve worked with global insurance firms and audit practices, specializing in investment and fund-focused assignments.

Steve holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Carleton University in Ottawa and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA Canada). He is a Registered Director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority and an active member of the Cayman Islands Directors Association. A long-term resident of the Cayman Islands, Steve brings institutional fluency and independent judgment to every board appointment.
