David Acutt

David Acutt is an Independent Director with Leeward, advising Cayman- and BVI-based technology companies, DAOs, and Web3 entities on governance, finance, and regulatory oversight. He brings a multidisciplinary background spanning audit, cybersecurity, and offshore structuring, allowing him to guide innovative organizations through complex governance challenges.

David began his career at Deloitte South Africa before taking on global assignments in Prague, Toronto, and the Cayman Islands, where he advised multinational clients on audit and regulatory compliance. He later held senior leadership roles as Chief Information Officer and Finance Director at one of Cayman’s longest-standing corporate service providers, where he oversaw operational strategy, finance, and technology. He also served as Finance and Operations Manager at the Maples Group, gaining extensive experience in the administration of corporate and fiduciary structures.

David holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Honours in Finance with Certified Theory of Accounting (CTA) from the University of Cape Town and the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He is a Registered Professional Director under the Cayman Islands Directors Registration and Licensing Act and a Notary Public. With South African, UK, and British Overseas Territories citizenship, and as a permanent resident of the Cayman Islands, David combines global fluency with deep jurisdictional knowledge in his board practice.
